One image. So many thoughts. Positive? Negative? Don't care?
When I go to the doctor's office, I turn around so I don't see the scale. If I want to know how much I weigh, I wake up and weigh myself in the morning. 5 years ago, I went 4 months without stepping onto a scale and had gained a significant amount of weight.
It didn't matter.
I was healing.
I was forgiving myself + my body.
The scale is a good check in if your goal is weight loss.
"Am I sticking with what I set out to do?" "Are my goals coming from a place of health?" "Am I losing this weight to release shame?"
The scale is not the enemy. It's a measure of progress over perfection. If the scale isn't for you, don't use it. Find what works for you.
