After a coaching call with a client recently I once again realized how mis-informed we are about our own bodies. There will be foods that work wonderfully for my body that will make yours break out in hives. There will be superfoods that bring you TONS of energy that would have me reaching for a benadryl.
Weight training works for so many, to me it's boring. Just being honest. I'd rather be dripping sweat in a yoga/barre class or taking the longest walk ever to clear my head.
Do you see where I'm going here?
Every one is different. I've worked with women who have PTSD, ADD, dyslexia, PCOS, leaky gut, long-term depression, eating disorders, severe anxiety, food allergies, migraines, weight loss surgeries, you name it...
Repeat it with me, every single person is different.
The most heart breaking clients are the ones who compare themselves.
The ones who ask, "How did your other client lose 20 pounds and I've only lost 3?" This is the thing. It happens. Could be a hormonal imbalance, abnormal stress levels, difficulties eliminating, a death, drinking problem, divorce, no exercise/hydration.
So please do me a favor in 2017 and get to know your body. Get to know your strengths and weaknesses like the back of your hand. Don't make another goal based on someone else's. Dig deep. Find out what and who makes you really happy.
