When you wake up, is your first thought, "OOOOOOO FOOD!?" Mine is. Ya know why? Because I know how important it is to start the day off right. If I don't get a quality, filling + delish brekkie, the rest of the day is set up for grabbing things on the go.
I know that a great breakfast determines my level of energy for the day and I need all the energy I can get to teach all the classes with all the oomph I got!
So if you skip breakfast and grab the coffee cup then this blog is totally for you.
We all need + crave energy. I know how easy it is to grab a bar and head out the door, especially before an early morning class. BUT I also know how great I feel when I take some time to sit down and eat something that nourishes me + makes me feel good. Ya know that feeling when you know you've eaten something that is really good for your body? I love that feeling + so does my body.
Would you rather thrive or survive throughout the day? If you begin your day with coffee + sugar, you will crash, and that is a guarantee. The energy throughout the day will be up and down + you'll need more to keep the ups. Food is like a drug. Rollercoaster. Fuel yourself with caffeine + soon enough, you'll need more to remain "high." Get it?
If you are crunched for time or just don't like to cook or eat a big meal in the morning, smoothies are a great alternative to a fast breakfast that can help energize us throughout the day. Toss in some greens, like spinach and a little bit of fruit, like blueberries + top it off with something delicious, like coconut water or non-dairy milk and experience vitality like you never thought existed!
Starting the day with smoothies also gives you antioxidants which help curb your sugar cravings and prevent the 3PM slump. The 3pm slump SUCKS. Let's smoothie it up!
