It's times like these when I start to question what is important. We're in the beginning of Christmas week and I've been racing around trying to finish last minute shopping trips. "Trying to finish" means just getting started because Christmas comes earlier and earlier every single year.
Unlike my Sister who had all of her shopping done, some wrapped and ready for shipping a week ago! Who the heck does she think she is? A planner. A doer. A non-doddler.
She's kind of amazing.
If you're like me, ADD, have a ton of thoughts about presents and people and hate shopping, you've come to the right place.
I'm gonna need you to put some music on. Music YOU LOVEEEE. Music that appeals only to you, not your loved ones, music that makes you boogie.
Turn that 'ish on. LOUD. Your mood should be lifting.
Next, grab a drink. Don't care if it's red wine, water or vodka soda. Go make something while you boogie to the kitchen - shake yo' tailfeathers.
Come back with your drink and the music on. Dance it out. Dance out all the stress and just have a good time tonight. You might be rushing to get things done. STOP. You are sucking all the fun out of this gift giving time. Create a little extra time to get stuff done, always make room for fun.
If you read this and didn't do any of it, you might be giving me the finger because you can feel my bubbly mood through the words. Your fault if you didn't get up, turn the music on and shake it out. Do it now.
There you go. Moving helps you move stuff around - no more stuckville. Music raises endorphins and serotonin (unless it's from Scarface).
