The first health coaching client I had, I gave them 3 months of free health coaching. I think it was a wise move because I was just starting out + learning what worked and what didn't. Even though I had spent $6,000 on my training at Institute for Integrative Nutrition and $4,000 on yoga training. Not to mention receiving a Bachelor's degree in Communication from Washington State University.
Somewhere along the way, I felt like I wasn't worthy of being paid.
That is SO not the case anymore. In fact, every 6 months, my rates increase because I find incredible value in my services.
Based on recent testimonials of programs and 1 on 1 health coaching sessions, people tell me they'd pay three times the amount I charge to receive this help.
If I want to be at the top of my game, be able to pay for my mortgage, health and life, I have to charge what I am worth. If you own your own biz, you have the opportunity to charge what you are worth - bottom line. The issue is not knowing how to determine your worth or getting hung up on the "unworthy train."
This year, I charged anywhere from $150-200 per hour for my private clients. For my teen clients, I charged $95.
Next year, my hourly rate will be $225 and my monthly 1 on 1's (1 x per week sessions) will be $800.
I decided that to devote myself 100% to these clients, I'd have to invest more of my time, effort and researching skills and I am worth more. The work does not stop the moment the session concludes. It it the beginning. The sessions notes contain hours of work post session.
Every month, I decide how many clients I am able to take on. I notice that with more clients, I am depleted. In 2016, I am going for quality, not quantity. Fewer clients, increased rates.
