- Stop what you are doing. Seriously. Just stop. Close the computer. Push the phone away from you. Turn off the TV. Sit with your eyes close and just think. For as long as it takes. First thing that happens is the breath. Instead of short, labored breaths, they will start to elongate the longer you just sit. And don't think that sitting longer is the goal or if you only make it 15 seconds you've failed. The entire purpose of the sitting + being process is just that.
- Blast your favorite tunes. If you need to have a solo dance party now is the time! Doesn't matter what time of day, crank the jams and dance until you're done.
- Get lost in a good book. Any type of book. A guilty pleasure, a nonfiction, a self help book. Doesn't matter. As long as it's for you + no one else. Take a seat on the couch, open the book + start reading. Don't have any recommendations? Go to the library and check out 5 that look good to you!
