I'm J Muenz, Your guide to a healthier, more fit you!

I’m the creator of Fearful to Fit™, a dancer when there's music playing, an empathetic soul and a card lover for all holidays.  My favorite role is empowering you to ditch the diets, the negative emotional criticism, body judgement and finally let go of the 10 to 20 pounds that are keeping you inside your comfort zone.  My yoga + barre clients know what's coming when I say, "This is going to be fun!"


I’m also a Board Certified Holistic Health Coach, Women’s Fitness Specialist, Writer + Retreat Leader. 

 

But I wasn't always Fearless...

Five years ago I gave up.  I gained 20 pounds for the third time in my life. Another high while enduring a serious low. Another rollercoaster romantic relationship was over.  And after using food as my emotional fill-me-up I was done. Done with dieting. Done with men who didn't respect + cherish me and done with friends who didn't allow me to just be me.  No more limits. No more restrictions. I went wild for a few months, giving myself the freedom to eat anything I wanted and tried not to notice my thighs rubbing together and my face getting puffy.  After my self declared freedom, I was ready for a real transformation - mind, body + soul. I got my life back together, went to Institute for Integrative Nutrition, got serious about honoring my beautiful body just as it was and noticed the weight release.  23 pounds in fact. And it wasn't like a fairy waved her magic wand, I did the work.  I shifted in my mindset toward food, I started eating for energy and nourishment and fuel.  I didn't let the bad boys back into my life and found my soul mate.  I learned how to cook a few simple + delicious meals and found out how to like cooking. Not love. I'm not there yet. Although, I do LOVE baking + smoothie making.  I started coaching women in 2013 and watched them go from Fearful to Fit in 8 weeks or less.

TANIA ALEAGA down 10 pounds and went from a size 10 to an 8!

The past 8 weeks have flown by! I got back into running last year but I wasn’t feeling my best or seeing results that I wanted. My nutrition needed a major upgrade! I treated food as a reward. If I had a good workout I would have a big bowl of spaghetti or a whole row of Oreos. I would eat until my stomach hurt and sometimes even have to unbutton my pants🙈 Now I eat until I’m satisfied and not until my stomach is full. I’ve noticed a couple times my plate would be half eaten and I didn’t force myself to finish. My choices in snacking has changed from Starbucks chonga bagels and cream cheese or goldfish to homemade sweet potato chips or veggies with hummus. Fruit has always been a huge part of my diet but adding in more veggies, protein in my lunches, and drinking 3 liters of water daily has stopped that afternoon sugar/carb crash feeling. I’ve had only 1 headache and this is coming from someone who took Advil or excedrine migraine on the daily! I’ve lost 10 lbs and have maintained it even with summer events! If I’m attending a BBQ I make sure I bring something healthy (yup I’ve turned into that girl lol 💁🏽) so I know there’s something I can eat without feeling guilty or yucky after. I’ve lost a ton of inches everywhere and went from a jean size 10 to an 8!👖Thank you JJ Muenz for sharing your knowledge with us and for not selling us extra stuff like protein powders or workout DVDs. SAM LOST 17 POUNDS!

Just watched the final class, I’m a little sad that it’s over but also really happy that I got to do this with all of you ladies. It’s been a great experience and I’m excited to continue the journey! I’ve accomplished a lot in this time; down 17 pounds, I didn’t measure myself and really wish I had because I’m down 1 possibly 2 pants sizes. I’ve learned to listen to my body and what it needs and to be easier on myself and not let others drag me down. Also, I’ve really improved my cooking skills and I’ve decided I’m celebrating these successes by cooking some scallops- I love them but have always been scared to cook them, well I’m up for the challenge now!

My life is transformed. Look, I’ve been there.  Stuckville. In the land of “What should I do next?  How do I really know if this is right for me?”
